Kismet is a simple single-ended (SE) 2A3 amp, presented for the first time in 1996 on Glass Audio.
You can find the design of the first 1996 Kismet at this link.
For several reasons no kit was made. In 1996 in Italy there was the famous kit Triodino 3 (I was one of the designers - I designed the input/driver stage), so I decided to publish the article in USA and not in Italy. However, I always thought that Kismet sounded better than Triodino 3 (Kismet was born to improve the performance of Triodino 3 at a lower price). When my full transformer coupled push-pull amps were ready, I realized that I was right!

I have never stopped developing the design: I tried to improve it, exploiting the experience gained from my top designs. The Kismet is now in its third generation, probably the last and ultimate. The magazine Positive Feedback decided to publish my article on Kismet 3. Since now this is an on-line audio magazine, you can find the KISMET 3 article on their web site.
This amplifier, as told, is very simple, but take a look at the schematic and will notice that...
An interesting aspect of this generation is the possibility to build a high gain version, named Kismet 3i: a high performance integrated amplifier.
